C.H.O.I.C.E.S. Counseling and Medicare Roundtable

Medicare and Health Insurance Assistance

Volunteer C.H.O.I.C.E.S. SHIP (State Health Insurance assistance Program) Counselors are available through Senior Resources - Agency on Aging to help seniors and other Medicare beneficiaries and their families better understand all of their health insurance options such as:

  • ‍Medicare
  • Prescription Drug Benefits
  • Supplemental Medigap Policies

They conduct screenings to ascertain a client’s eligibility for financial assistance with the State of Connecticut Medicare Savings Program (MSP) and can conduct a ‘Benefits Checkup’ which will provide information for more than 20 federal and state programs that may help pay for some prescription drugs, healthcare, utilities, and other needs.

Counselors do not sell insurance and cannot recommend one plan over another but rather help clients make the best choice for their personal situation.

To find the nearest counselor, please contact Senior Resources at 860-887-3561.
